Robert D. Battis - Founder, President, CEO, COB – Founded Laser Energetics in November 1991. BS & Grad courses in Chemistry from Seton Hall University. Background includes Technical Management, Marketing & Sales Management and Administrative Management Positions. Prior to Founding LEI, he was the National Sales Manager of Industrial & OEM Excimer lasers – for Lambda Physik, Inc., a subsidiary of Coherent, Inc., where he developed the market and was responsible for the creation of an Industrial Excimer Laser Product Line that ending up being the best in the world. Prior to that he was Regional Sales Manager for Lambda Physik, Inc. responsible for industrial, scientific, and OEM laser sales. He also worked with Rheometrics Scientific as the Eastern US Sales Manager of materials testing instruments. He has worked extensively with Government Labs, the US Military & Fortune 1- 1000 companies. Mr. Battis has worked on projects that range from Anti Satellite Weapons for the military to Multi Chip Modules for IBM to Solid Rocket Propellants for the solving the problem with the Space Shuttle Challenger to working on composites for the B-1 Bomber. Mr. Battis holds many Patents on Inventions and many patents applied for. He has created many Trademarks for branding for many products. He has authored several scientific publications.
Wayne Armstrong - Senior Vice President of Operations - Mr. Armstrong has been associated with LEI since December 1997 in various capacities. Prior to joining LEI Mr. Armstrong, in his highly successful lengthy career, held numerous technical and management positions at ITT AES Division, Loral Control System, Ford Aerospace Aeronutronic Division and Hughes Missile Systems. As a result of these experiences Mr. Armstrong has made significant technical contributions to complex projects, managed many state-of-the-art programs, created many inventions, planned and executed start-up operations, guided business development of company sectors and manged large organizations. Mr. Armstrong is experienced in R&D, LRIP and high and low volume production at the individual contributor level through executive management. Mr. Armstrong received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
John Magno, Phd - Vice President of Research & Development for LEI since April, 2008. Dr. Magno has over 15 years of experience in research, development and technology management. While employed at Honeywell International, he was Director of R & D for five years, where he managed 27 scientists, engineers in numerous commercial and government aerospace, solid-state lasers, organic light emitting diodes (OLED’s), organic photovoltaic cells, ring laser gyros, rocket propulsion system programs. He has 10 U.S. patents and over 100 publications and has won 3 technical achievement awards and 2 intellectual property awards. He has undergone extensive training and is recognized by Honeywell as a Process Improvement Master. Prior to joining Honeywell (formerly AlliedSignal) in 1995, Dr. Magno was employed as a Staff Physicist at AT&T Bell Laboratories, where he was a team member responsible for the research development of DFB lasers. Dr. Magno received his Ph.D. and M.S in Physics from Lehigh University and did his post doctorate.
Dominic C. Battisti - Controller & Secretary for LEI from July 1992 to the present. In this capacity he is responsible for record retention, internal accounting/budget reports, payroll, tax returns, personnel and day to day administrative functions. He came to Laser Energetics with a diversified background as controller of various large and small companies. Mr. Battisti received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rider University. Dominic Battisti is a cousin to Robert D. Battis. Mr. Battisti is the Secretary and Treasurer of LEI.
John T. LiVecchi, MD, F.A.C.S. - Medical Director for LEI from September 1998 till present. Board Certified Ophthalmologist. Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Hahnemann Medical University, Philadelphia. Fellow in Oculoplastic Surgery at Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University, Detroit. Internationally recognized and sought-after scientific presenter on Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic Surgery. Contributing author to several current, authoritative text books on Ophthalmology.
Michael Levine – Director of Dazer Laser Sales - Mr. Levine brings over 14 years of extensive sales experience encompassing finance consulting, business development, strategic marketing and asset acquisitions. Mr. Levine holds a BA degree from Florida International University and has operated in domestic and international markets, having conducted high level business in over 25 countries. Before joining LEI he was the co-founder of Rocco Radar LLC, one of the stronger manufacturing rep. groups of Dazer Laser®. Mr. Levine was a real estate broker for a boutique real estate firm and produced over $135,000,000.00 in sales in its commercial sales division in a period of less than 2 years. During that time he was also the VP of Business Development of Amon Investments where he worked closely with the CEO and CFO and did over $100,000,000.00 in sales in a 9 month period. Prior to Joining Amon Investments Mr. Levine had directly structured and brokered over $1 billion of several complex financial transactions around the world.

Prof. Martin Richardson, Phd. – Senior Technical Adviser Board Member from 2001 to present. Served as the Vice President of Research and Development for LEI from 1993 to the of 2000. He spent his entire scientific career (over 35 years) in the development of high power solid state lasers. He has held senior positions in several major laboratories in the US and Canada and is the author of over 350 scientific publications as well as the holder of several patents. He is well known internationally and has worked in Canada, Britain, Australia, France, Germany, Japan and Russia. Dr. Richardson received his B.S., A.R.C.S. from Imperial College (UK) and his Ph.D. from London University (UK).
Victor Cohen, Phd. – Dr. Victor Cohen has more than 40 years of technical achievements in the areas of control theory and electro-mechanical design of air, space and sea borne craft. These efforts have included NASA’s LEM and the F-14 aircraft at Grumman Aircraft, and the AMRAAM missile and the F-5 and F-18 aircraft as a member of the corporate staff at Northrop Corporation. His experience includes serving as the Deputy for Tactical Warfare in the USAF Office of the Assistant Secretary for RD&L for the decade of the 1980s and prior to that as a Member of the Technical Staff at the Institute for Defense Analysis. His recent activities include consulting and marketing efforts to several aerospace industry leaders. His education includes having received the degrees of M.E., M.S. in Applied Mechanics, and the Sc.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.

Charles Rohn, Phd. Founded, owns and operates an International consulting company, Rohn and Associates, Inc. He specializes in Rheology, which analyzes the processing behavior and microstructure of materials. The company has provided technical support to a large number of companies such Bell Laboratories, Trex, Playtex, Lockheed Martin, Owens Corning etc.
Prior to this, he worked as the an Applications Manager and Director for Rheometrics Scientific and Bohlin Instruments. While working at Bell Labs, Mobil Chemical and Johns Manville his research was focused on plastics and coatings.
For fourteen years he was an Adjunct Instructor at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Currently he is affiliated with Rutgers University. He has lectured world wide and has given short courses in Rheology in China, Japan, Thailand, Korea, United Kingdom, Denmark, Canada, and South America. He is the author of the book “Analytical Polymer Rheology” and has published more than 50 papers.
Mark Meller, Esq. – He is currently Chairman of the Board & CEO of several Public companies, as well as Bristol Townsend, a New Jersey based investment firm specializing in investment and placement of equity, quasi-equity, subordinated debt securities, M & A advisory services and management consulting. Prior to his current firm, Mr. Meller was a principal of Crown Capital Group, an investment-banking firm providing corporate finance and merger and acquisition advisory services to middle market companies. Prior thereto, Mr. Meller was an attorney in New York City. Mr. Meller received a BA degree from SUNY Binghamton and a JD degree from Boston University School of Law. He is a member of the Bar of the State of New York.
Chip Mortensen – Technical Advisor Board Member from 2001 to present. Mr. Mortensen has been associated with LEI from December 1992 – till present. He has served as a head of Engineering and Manufacturing of LEI from 1992 – 1994, as well as consulted to Laser Energetics. He received a B. S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytech University.
